The inadvertent expat blogger behind TrailGroveFrame

Hello, I'm Sophie
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent and an expat living in Paris, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
Origins
Moving to France wasn’t in the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it came about through a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt messier than expected.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines settled in. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Reason Behind TrailGroveFrame
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in France.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Practical know-how from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
We’ll keep our time in France going, and the learning process will continue. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophie
